FDIC Unveils Q2 & Q3 2025 CRA Exam Schedule

Washington D.C. – The Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) has released its schedules for Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) examinations set to take place during the second and third quarters of 2025. This move aligns with the FDIC’s commitment to ensuring financial institutions meet the credit needs of all communities, including those in low- and moderate-income neighborhoods.

The CRA, a law from 1977, mandates that banks demonstrate their ability to serve these communities without compromising on safe and sound operations. The examination schedules are based on an institution’s asset size and CRA rating, with regulations specifying the frequency of examinations for different ratings.

For institutions with assets under $250 million, those with a Satisfactory CRA rating can be examined no more than once every 48 months, while Outstanding-rated institutions are subject to examination no more than once every 60 months. However, exceptions may apply based on reasonable cause or other regulatory considerations.

The schedules for the second quarter (April 1 – June 30, 2025) and third quarter (July 1 – September 30, 2025) are currently in place and subject to change. Institutions not originally scheduled for an examination may be included due to applications for deposit facilities or other regulatory matters.

The FDIC encourages public comment on the institutions scheduled for examination under the CRA. Comments should be directed to the respective institutions or the Deputy Regional Director of the appropriate FDIC regional office. These comments will be considered prior to the completion of any CRA examinations.

For more detailed information, including specific institution listings and contact details for FDIC regional offices, individuals can call (703) 562-2200 or (877) 275-3342, fax a request to (703) 562-2296, or write to the FDIC Public Information Center at 3501 Fairfax Drive, Room E-1002, Arlington, VA 22226.
