Fentanyl Conspirator Sentenced to 6+ Years
Jerimiah Swanson, a 22-year-old Cocoa man, has been sentenced to six years and eight months in federal prison for his role in a fentanyl conspiracy.
According to court documents, Swanson was found guilty by a federal jury on December 10, 2020, for his involvement in a conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute more than 40 grams of fentanyl.
Swanson’s troubles began in November 2019, when a confidential informant working for the Drug Enforcement Administration made six recorded purchases totaling over 150 grams of fentanyl outside his home in Cocoa, Florida.
Law enforcement conducted a search of Swanson’s home in February 2020 and found a stash of evidence, including baggies, digital scales covered with fentanyl and cocaine, and firearms in his bedroom.
Swanson’s co-defendant, who pleaded guilty to his role in the conspiracy, was sentenced to eight years in federal prison on December 16, 2020.
This case was a collaborative effort between the Drug Enforcement Administration, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Florida Highway Patrol and the Titusville Police Department.
Assistant United States Attorneys Shawn P. Napier and E. Jackson Boggs Jr. prosecuted the case.
