Fernando Defrancisco, Violent Crime, Pennsylvania 2021

In a shocking turn of events, Fernando Defrancisco, a 35-year-old resident of Philadelphia, was arrested on January 28, 2021, and charged with multiple counts of violent crime. The case, known as DEFRANCISCO, was filed in the PAED Federal District Court in Pennsylvania.

According to sources, Defrancisco was accused of being involved in a string of armed robberies that took place across the city. The defendant allegedly used a firearm to intimidate and threaten victims during the robberies, leaving several individuals shaken and traumatized.

Defrancisco was charged with four counts of armed robbery, two counts of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and one count of conspiracy to commit armed robbery. If convicted, the defendant could face up to 20 years in prison for each armed robbery charge, as well as an additional 10 years for the firearm charges.

On February 10, 2022, Defrancisco pleaded guilty to all charges in a surprise move that caught many off guard. The defendant’s guilty plea was reportedly made in exchange for a reduced sentence, with prosecutors agreeing to recommend a 15-year prison term instead of the maximum penalty.

Defrancisco’s sentencing hearing took place on March 25, 2022, where the defendant was formally sentenced to 15 years in federal prison, followed by three years of supervised release. The court also imposed a fine of $10,000 and ordered the defendant to pay restitution to the victims of the armed robberies.
