A former security guard at Davenport Central High School in Iowa has been indicted on federal charges. Michael L. Johnson, 32, was indicted on one count of possession of a firearm by a prohibited person and one count of being a felon in possession of a firearm.
The indictment alleges that Johnson, who was a security guard at Davenport Central High School, possessed a firearm despite being a convicted felon. The charges were brought by the United States Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Iowa.
The indictment was returned by a grand jury on March 12, 2024 and was unsealed on April 12, 2024. Johnson is scheduled to appear in federal court on April 15, 2024 for an initial appearance.
Johnson’s indictment is the result of an investigation by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) and the Davenport Police Department. The case is being prosecuted by the United States Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Iowa.
