Former Linndale police officer Jonida Alicka, aged 29 from Rocky River, was handed a 41-month prison sentence by U.S. District Judge Dan Aaron Polster for transporting substantial amounts of MDMA and marijuana.
Alicka, who previously pleaded guilty to possession with intent to distribute both substances, was also compelled to forfeit two firearms and cash seized during her arrest in Ohio last year.
Jonida Alicka and her sister Denisa Alicka conducted multiple drug sales between 2014 and 2016. The sisters procured the illegal drugs from Rinald Turhani and Leka Konini, both residents of Michigan, according to court documents.
Alicka further sourced MDMA from her boyfriend in Canada. She traveled to New York to pick up the substance and then brought it back to Ohio for distribution, as detailed in court records.
Turhani was found guilty of drug-related charges and is currently serving a nine-year sentence. Konini and Denisa Alicka have also been convicted and are awaiting their sentencing dates.
The investigation into this case was led by the FBI, with support from the Cleveland Division of Police, Ohio HIDTA, Rocky River Police, Parma Police, and U.S. Border Patrol. Assistant U.S. Attorneys Marisa T. Darden and Robert F. Corts are prosecuting the charges.
