Marco A. Garcia, 31, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, is headed to federal prison for a decade after admitting his role in a multi-year cocaine distribution ring. Garcia was sentenced to 120 months imprisonment by Chief Judge Theresa L. Springmann after pleading guilty to conspiracy to distribute cocaine, U.S. Attorney Thomas L. Kirsch II confirmed.
The sentence includes an additional five years of supervised release, during which Garcia will be under strict federal oversight upon his release. The conviction marks the culmination of a long-running investigation into organized drug trafficking operations centered in northeast Indiana.
Court documents show Garcia was active in the conspiracy from January 2015 to July 2016, during which time he helped distribute significant quantities of cocaine across the Fort Wayne area. The operation moved drugs through a network of street-level dealers and middlemen, exploiting neighborhoods already ravaged by addiction and violence.
The FBI’s Safe Streets and Gang Task Force led the investigation, with boots on the ground from the Indiana State Police, the Allen County Sheriff’s Department, and the Fort Wayne Police Department. Critical support also came from the Drug Enforcement Administration, the Internal Revenue Service, and the Allen County Drug Task Force, highlighting the cross-agency effort to dismantle the ring.
Prosecution was handled by Assistant U.S. Attorneys Anthony W. Geller and Stacey Speith, who built a case that left Garcia with no option but a guilty plea. Federal prosecutors emphasized Garcia’s role as more than incidental—he was a consistent and knowing participant in a criminal enterprise that poisoned local communities.
Garcia’s sentencing sends a message: federal and local law enforcement are locked in step when it comes to dismantling drug networks. But on the streets of Fort Wayne, where addiction and violence persist, ten years behind bars won’t erase the damage already done.
