Boston – The grim tale of Thomas Davis, 42, once a respected educator at Foxborough High School, took a darker turn yesterday as he pleaded guilty in federal court to possession and receiving child pornography.
\\
Davis, a resident of Mansfield, was charged on August 26, 2021, following the execution of a search warrant at his residence. Authorities seized Davis’ laptop, where they found approximately 40 images of child pornography, including shocking images involving minors under the age of 12.
\\
This harrowing discovery led to Davis facing severe penalties for both possession and receipt of child pornography. Under federal law, he could be sentenced to up to 20 years in prison and fines totaling $250,000.
\\
United States Attorney Rachael S. Rollins and Special Agent in Charge Joseph R. Bonavolonta of the FBI Boston Division announced the charges against Davis, emphasizing the importance of Project Safe Childhood. This initiative combats child sexual exploitation and abuse, identifying and rescuing victims while bringing perpetrators to justice.
\\
Assistant U.S. Attorney David G. Tobin is handling the prosecution for Rollins’ Major Crimes Unit. The case is part of a nationwide effort to combat the growing epidemic of child exploitation.
