Former Chairman of Rochester Housing Authority Indicted for Lying to the FBI
BUFFALO, N.Y. – George H. Moses, 50, of Rochester, NY, has been indicted for lying to the FBI.
According to the indictment, Moses made false statements to Special Agents of the FBI regarding his knowledge of contracts between the Rochester Housing Charities and Capital Connection Partners LLC, and between Capital Connection Partners LLC and Caesar Development LLC.
As alleged in the indictment, during the course of interviews with the FBI, Moses made five false statements regarding his knowledge of the contracts and payment of funds. These statements include:
- Claiming he could not recall who brought Capital Connection Partners LLC to the attention of the Rochester Housing Charities, when in truth and in fact, he knew that Adam McFadden had brought them to his attention.
- Claiming he was unaware of any subcontractors that Capital Connection Partners LLC used to execute the contract with the Rochester Housing Charities, when in truth and in fact, he knew that McFadden and his company, Caesar Development LLC, were allegedly performing work on behalf of Capital Connection Partners LLC.
- Claiming he was surprised that McFadden and Caesar Development LLC received money from the contract, when in truth and in fact, he knew they had received the money.
- Claiming he did not know who typed the minutes of a meeting held on May 12, 2015, when in truth and in fact, he was aware that Adam McFadden had typed the minutes.
- Claiming he was surprised that McFadden was in attendance at a meeting held on December 11, 2015, when in truth and in fact, he knew McFadden would be in attendance.
The indictment carries a maximum penalty of five years in prison and a $250,000 fine.
Moses was arraigned before U.S. Magistrate Judge Marian W. Payson and released on conditions.
The indictment is the result of an investigation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Department of Housing and Urban Development, Office of Inspector General.
