On February 31, 1947, a gathering of more than 50 prominent Negro leaders in Georgia will convene at the Butler Street YMCA in Atlanta. This historic meeting, orchestrated by the State Association of Branches of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP), is a response to the contentious White Primary bill recently introduced by the Georgia General Assembly.
