Gerald N. Holden, Conspiracy to Distribute Methamphetamine, Iowa 2017

Council Bluffs, IA – A shocking verdict has been handed down in a high-profile drug trafficking case. Gerald N. Holden, a 42-year-old Bellevue resident, has been sentenced to 160 months in prison for conspiring to distribute methamphetamine in the Southern District of Iowa.

According to the United States Attorney’s Office, Holden pleaded guilty to the charge on November 29, 2016, and admitted to participating in a conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine in August 2016. The charge was the result of a thorough law enforcement investigation into drug trafficking in both Omaha, Nebraska, and Council Bluffs, Iowa.

The investigation, which was conducted by the Southwest Iowa Narcotics Enforcement Task Force, the Omaha Police Department, the Council Bluffs Police Department, and the Pottawattamie County Sheriff’s Office, uncovered a complex web of drug trafficking activity in the region.

Holden’s sentence, which includes a five-year term of supervised release following his release from prison, is a stark reminder of the severity of the consequences for those involved in drug trafficking.
