Giang Tran, Methamphetamine Distribution, Massachusetts 2026

A Webster man has been sentenced to 10 years in prison for distributing large quantities of crystal methamphetamine in Massachusetts, Grimy Times can reveal.

Giang Tran, 36, was sentenced by U.S. District Court Judge Margaret R. Guzman to 10 years in prison, to be followed by five years of supervised release.

The charges relate to Tran’s distribution of crystal methamphetamine, which was uncovered by law enforcement in December 2024. A cooperating witness had informed authorities that Tran was the supplier of pounds of crystal methamphetamine.

Tran went on to agree to deliver the drugs to undercover law enforcement posing as the cooperating witness on three occasions. On January 2, 2025, Tran personally delivered the drugs to a commercial plaza in Everett. On January 8, 2025, and again on January 21, 2025, Tran sent an associate to deliver the drugs in Worcester.

In total, Tran delivered or arranged the delivery of approximately 1 kilogram of methamphetamine, a significant quantity of the highly addictive substance.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Samuel R. Feldman, of the Narcotics & Money Laundering Unit, with valuable assistance provided by the Riverside (Calif.) DEA Office.

The sentencing was announced by United States Attorney Leah B. Foley and Jarod A. Forget, Special Agent in Charge of the Drug Enforcement Administration, New England Field Division.

The charges brought against Tran include conspiracy to distribute and to possess with intent to distribute controlled substances (involving 50 grams or more of methamphetamine) and distribution of methamphetamine.

Tran was indicted on June 10, 2025, and pleaded guilty to the charges in January 2026.
