ST. CROIX, VI – In a landmark ruling, the United States Attorney Delia L. Smith announced that Paul Girard, 36, and three key members of his violent criminal enterprise were handed down ten life sentences each for their involvement in a racketeer influenced and corrupt organization (RICO).
Girard, also known as “Bogus,” was found to be the orchestrator behind a reign of terror that included murders, robberies, assaults, gun violence, and kidnappings. His influence reached even from within prison walls, where he plotted his gang’s next moves.
“A reign of unspeakable terror was unleashed in this Territory by Girard and his enterprise,” Smith said. “But the life sentences issued by the court send a strong message that our system of justice works, and anyone who commits these heinous crimes will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.”
According to court documents and evidence produced at trial, Girard directed attacks against rival gang members and individuals who disrespected his organization. Tyler Eugene, 26, also known as “Lucc,” committed acts of violence on behalf of the gang under Girard’s direction, including the murder of Juan Encarnacion, III. Kareem Harry, 36, known as “Crumbull,” participated in multiple murders and arranged a shooting outside Williams’ child’s daycare center.
