Afton man Glenn David Nickols, 40, admitted in federal court Thursday to sexually abusing a young child and recording the assaults—acts so vile they shocked even seasoned investigators. Nickols pleaded guilty to aggravated sexual abuse of a minor under 12 years of age in Indian Country and sexual exploitation of a child, capping a probe that exposed a hidden world of brutality masked behind a quiet rural home.
The nightmare began unfolding in March 2021 when the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) and the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation (OSBI) received a CyberTipline report tied to an email account used by Nickols. That account transmitted over 100 videos and images of child sexual abuse. But among the known material, agents found something worse—never-before-seen footage showing a man wearing a hat labeled “Buckster” sexually assaulting a child with tape over her mouth, her limbs shackled and handcuffed.
Investigators zeroed in on Nickols after forensic analysis linked the account and metadata to his identity and residence in Afton. A search warrant executed at his home yielded damning evidence: hard drives, recording devices, and digital files documenting the abuse. The victim, a young Native American girl, was quickly identified and removed from danger. Authorities confirmed the crimes occurred within the boundaries of the Cherokee Nation.
When confronted, Nickols didn’t deny his role. During an interview with OSBI agents, he admitted he was the man in the videos, acknowledged his nickname was “Buck,” and confirmed ownership of the email account used to distribute the material. He confessed the abuse took place at his Afton residence—ground that falls under federal jurisdiction due to its location in Indian Country.
The case was investigated by the OSBI with support from federal partners. Assistant U.S. Attorney Christopher J. Nassar is prosecuting, underscoring the severity of the charges. Because the victim was under 12 and the abuse occurred in Indian Country, the aggravated sexual abuse charge alone carries a mandatory minimum sentence of 30 years in prison—potentially a life behind bars.
Nickols’ guilty plea strips away the chance for trial theatrics but offers no comfort to those who have seen the evidence. The images depict a calculated, dehumanizing assault on a defenseless child. As sentencing looms, federal prosecutors are vowing maximum accountability for a crime that exploited trust, violated sovereignty, and left a child forever scarred.
