NEWPORT NEWS, VA – Timothy Justin George, 27, of Gloucester County, Virginia, will spend the next six years behind bars after being sentenced today for the abhorrent crime of distributing child pornography. Senior U.S. District Judge Henry Coke Morgan, Jr. handed down the sentence, along with a ten-year term of supervised release, effectively branding George a registered sex offender for a decade after he completes his prison sentence.
The case originated with a September 2016 search of George’s residence. Law enforcement seized multiple electronic devices, which were subjected to a rigorous forensic analysis. The results were sickening: over 31,000 images depicting the sexual abuse of children. This wasn’t a casual collection; the sheer volume indicates a deliberate and disturbing obsession.
George pleaded guilty on February 1, attempting to mitigate the damage but ultimately accepting responsibility for his vile actions. The statement of facts presented with his plea agreement left no room for doubt regarding the gravity of his offense.
