Danny Ray Gordon, III, Firearm Possession, Oklahoma 2024

Danny Ray Gordon, III, a 33-year-old resident of Lone Grove, Oklahoma, has pleaded guilty to a federal firearm charge. The United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Oklahoma announced that Gordon entered a guilty plea to illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition.

The charge against Gordon arose from an investigation by the Carter County Sheriff’s Office, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. The Indictment filed on March 13, 2024, charged Gordon with one count of Felon in Possession of Firearm and Ammunition.

At the plea hearing, Gordon admitted to possessing a Colt, Model 1903, .32ACP caliber, semi-automatic pistol, and several rounds of ammunition on December 16, 2024. He also admitted that at the time of possession, he knew he had been previously convicted of a crime punishable by imprisonment for a term exceeding one year.

The Honorable Gerald L. Jackson, U.S. Magistrate Judge in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Oklahoma, accepted the plea and ordered the completion of a presentence investigation report. Gordon will remain in custody of the U.S. Marshall pending sentencing.

Assistant United States Attorney T. Cameron McEwen represented the United States in the case. The guilty plea is a significant development in the prosecution of Gordon, who now faces sentencing for his crime.
