Gregory Scott Broce, Possession of Heroin and Crack Cocaine, West Virginia 2019

Huntington, West Virginia – A local man has been sentenced to 37 months in federal prison for his involvement in a significant drug crime. Gregory Scott Broce, 50, of Huntington, was sentenced for possession with intent to distribute heroin and crack cocaine.

According to Acting United States Attorney Lisa G. Johnston, Broce previously pled guilty and admitted to being in possession of a large quantity of narcotics. On July 6, 2019, a West Virginia State Police trooper pulled over Broce’s vehicle near 11th Avenue and 22nd Street in Huntington after receiving a report that the vehicle was stolen.

During the search of the vehicle, the trooper found multiple baggies containing approximately 10.7 grams of crack cocaine and 3.4 grams of heroin. Digital scales and multiple empty baggies were located on Broce’s person, further supporting the charges.

The West Virginia State Police conducted the investigation, which led to Broce’s arrest and subsequent sentencing. United States District Judge Robert C. Chambers presided over the hearing, where Broce received his 37-month sentence.

Assistant United States Attorney Ryan A. Keefe handled the prosecution of the case. The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of West Virginia released a statement announcing Broce’s sentencing, which can be found on their website.
