A North Platte man has been sentenced to 27 years in prison for his role in a multi-state methamphetamine trafficking conspiracy.
Guadalupe Ramirez, 40, was sentenced on July 3, 2025 in federal court in Lincoln, Nebraska, for Conspiracy to Distribute 500 grams or more of Methamphetamine.
According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Ramirez was the second in command of the operation, which saw methamphetamine trafficked into Nebraska through mailings from California and Mexico. Members of the conspiracy would receive the packages and distribute the drugs throughout the state, including as far east as Omaha.
The investigation, which began in 2021, was conducted by the CODE Task Force, a coalition of law enforcement agencies in west-central/southwest Nebraska. The task force included the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Nebraska State Patrol, Homeland Security Investigations, and other local and state agencies.
During the investigation, agents seized illicit drugs, cash, and firearms, and dismantled the drug trafficking organization. The case was recognized by the Midwest High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (HIDTA) as the 2024 Community Impact Operation of the Year.
U.S. Attorney Lesley Woods praised the work of the CODE Task Force, saying that it demonstrated the effectiveness of full prosecutorial and investigation collaboration in making Nebraska a safer place for its citizens.
Ramirez will begin a 10-year term of supervised release after serving his prison sentence. There is no parole in the federal system.
