Enrique Guevara-Camargo, a 51-year-old Mexican national, has been indicted on an immigration violation in the Eastern District of Texas. The indictment, announced by Acting U.S. Attorney Jay R. Combs, charges Guevara-Camargo with illegal reentry by a previously deported alien.
According to the indictment, Guevara-Camargo was found in the Eastern District of Texas on July 2, 2025, after having been previously deported. This case is part of Operation Take Back America, a nationwide initiative that aims to repel the invasion of illegal immigration and protect communities from violent crime.
The indictment alleges that Guevara-Camargo knowingly and intentionally reentered the United States without being admitted or paroled by an immigration officer. If convicted, Guevara-Camargo faces up to 2 years in federal prison and deportation.
This case is being investigated by Homeland Security Investigations and Immigration & Customs Enforcement. Assistant U.S. Attorney Chris Jackson is prosecuting the case. A federal indictment is not evidence of guilt, and all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
