Oseas Aguilar-Guzman, a 38-year-old Guatemalan native, was found in the United States on March 20, 2024, after reentering the country without authorization. This was not his first time in the US, as he had been previously deported on December 4, 2013. Aguilar-Guzman pleaded guilty to reentry of a removed alien in New Orleans, Louisiana. His sentencing is set for October 13, 2026, where he faces up to two years in prison.
Aguilar-Guzman’s case is part of Operation Take Back America, a nationwide initiative aimed at combating illegal immigration and transnational criminal organizations. The US Attorney’s office praised the work of US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in investigating this matter.
As part of his guilty plea, Aguilar-Guzman faces a fine of up to $250,000, up to one year of supervised release, and a mandatory special assessment fee of $100. His prosecution is being handled by Assistant United States Attorney Shannon Kippers of the General Crimes Unit.
