Guiseppi Clprelll, Murder, New York NY, 1912

Sing Sing’s Death House is bursting at the seams, with 22 condemned men – the largest number ever held at the institution. The rapacity of death is taking its toll on the prison’s infrastructure, prompting Warden V. C. Penrose to construct two annexes to accommodate the overflow. One annex is situated next to the death house proper, where usually cold cells have been converted into cramped quarters for the condemned. Others have been relocated to a nearby building, adjacent to the office of Principal Keeper Connaughton, a man known among prison officials as the ‘P.K.’
