Gun-Toting Felon Busted in Tulsa
Adam Alshekhly, a 27-year-old transient from Oklahoma, has been charged with felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Oklahoma. Alshekhly, who has a history of felony convictions, is accused of possessing a firearm and ammunition despite being aware of his status as a convicted felon.
The investigation was conducted by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) and the Tulsa Police Department. Assistant U.S. Attorney Michele W. Hulgaard is prosecuting the case, which is assigned the docket number 24-CR-177.
The return of an indictment by a federal grand jury is a formal accusation of a crime, which must be proven beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law. Alshekhly is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
Alshekhly’s case is just one of several indicted in the June 2024-A Federal Grand Jury in Oklahoma. Other defendants charged in the same grand jury include Ronald Buckley Jr. and Terrance Vohn Morrow, who are accused of robbery in Indian Country and using a firearm during a crime of violence.
The indictment alleges that Buckley, 38, of Tulsa, and Morrow, 40, of Kinta, took property of value by force and used a firearm during the commission of a crime of violence. The FBI, Tulsa Police Department, and Tulsa County Sheriff’s Department investigated the case, and Assistant U.S. Attorneys Stephen J. Flynn and Kenneth Elmore are prosecuting.
Other indicted individuals include Dakota Austin Clark, who is accused of possession of child pornography in Indian Country, and Fabian Cobos Carpena, who is charged with unlawful reentry of a removed alien. The indictment also includes several defendants accused of kidnapping and robbery, including Lerontez Sherod Hill, Bobbe Gene Taylor, Tashonna Leigh Anderson, Walter Jay Johnson, Kemareay Keishion Green, and Jeremiah Hamlin.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office in Oklahoma is committed to holding individuals accountable for crimes committed in Indian Country. The office works closely with federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies to investigate and prosecute crimes, and to bring justice to victims and their families.
The indictment is a significant step in the process of bringing these individuals to justice. The U.S. Attorney’s Office will continue to work tirelessly to ensure that those responsible for these crimes are held accountable.
