Health Care Fraud Ring Dismantled: Four Texas Individuals Face Charges Over $210 Million Scheme

WASHINGTON — A massive health care fraud scheme worth over $210 million has been dismantled in the Northern District of Texas, with four individuals facing federal charges. The Justice Department’s 2025 National Health Care Fraud Takedown resulted in criminal charges against 324 defendants across the United States, including 96 medical professionals.

The alleged scheme involved fraudulent billing and identity theft, targeting patients and federal programs. The government seized over $245 million in assets during the coordinated enforcement efforts, showcasing the significant return on investment from health care fraud enforcement.

HHS-OIG Acting Inspector General Juliet T. Hodgkins emphasized the agency’s dedication to detecting, investigating, and dismantling these fraud schemes, protecting taxpayer dollars and patient care.
