HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – Mark R. Tabb, a 46-year-old resident of Huntington, West Virginia, has pleaded guilty to possession with intent to distribute heroin, a federal crime with serious consequences.

Tabb was arrested on August 15, 2012, at his 4th Avenue home by officers with the Huntington Violent Crime and Drug Task Force. During the search, officers discovered more than ten grams of heroin and $9,500 in cash.

Tabb confessed that the heroin was his and that he intended to sell it in the Huntington area. His actions were a clear threat to public safety, and he will now face the music.

Tabb’s guilty plea comes with a hefty price tag: up to 20 years imprisonment and up to a $1 million fine. His sentencing is scheduled for January 26, 2015.

The Huntington community can breathe a sigh of relief knowing that one less heroin dealer is on the streets. However, the fight against heroin trafficking is far from over.
