A federal indictment has been filed against HOWARD ALLEN JEMISON JR., 32, of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, for allegedly possessing a firearm after being convicted of several previous felonies.
According to the indictment filed in the U.S. District Court, Jemison is accused of being in possession of a Sarsilmaz (Sar Arms) 9mm pistol on June 27 in Tuscaloosa County. This alleged crime is punishable by up to 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.
Jemison has a history of felony convictions, including unlawful possession of a controlled substance and first-degree unlawful possession of marijuana in 2005, third-degree robbery in 2007, felon in possession of a firearm in 2011, first-degree unlawful possession of marijuana in 2012, and first-degree unlawful possession of marijuana in 2017, all in the Tuscaloosa County Circuit Court.
The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) investigated the case, with Assistant U.S. Attorney Michael A. Royster handling the prosecution.
