HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – Another dealer pushing poison onto the streets of West Virginia is facing a lengthy stay in federal prison. Rodney Bulley, 33, of Huntington, received a sentence of seven years and six months today for his role in distributing fentanyl, a drug that continues to ravage communities across the nation.
The case stems from a November 20, 2019 raid on Bulley’s residence on Wilson Court. Law enforcement, executing a search warrant, discovered approximately 278 grams of fentanyl stashed inside. Bulley was present during the search and quickly admitted to possessing the deadly substance with the intent to distribute it. He also confessed to broader involvement in fentanyl distribution throughout the Huntington area, a region already crippled by the opioid epidemic.
This wasn’t a small-time operation. Nearly 300 grams of fentanyl represents a significant quantity, enough to kill tens of thousands. While a sentence was handed down, it won’t bring back those already lost to addiction fueled by dealers like Bulley. United States Attorney William S. Thompson announced the sentencing, praising the collaborative investigative work of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the Cabell County Sheriff’s Department. United States District Judge Robert C. Chambers delivered the sentence. Assistant U.S. Attorney Joseph F.
