INTERPOL Interns Get Hands-On Crime Fight Experience

D.C. – In a pre-recorded interview with Federal News Radio, Acting Director Wayne Salzgaber shed light on the unique experiences and opportunities afforded to interns in the INTERPOL Washington internship program.

According to Salzgaber, the program gives college age students and recent graduates direct experience working in the law enforcement environment, offering insight into the growing nexus of transnational crime as well as law enforcement in the United States and around the world.

“Interns may receive the following opportunities,” Salzgaber stated. “Exposure to a wide variety of law enforcement partners, including law enforcement detailees onsite from agencies including the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), U.S. Marshals Service (USMS), and other federal, state and local law enforcement agencies.”

Salzgaber noted that interns will also gain knowledge of the criminal justice system and both its domestic and international scope, impact, and mechanisms, as well as awareness of issues affecting international criminal investigations.

The INTERPOL Washington internship program offers full-time, nonpaid internships for six-month cycles (January-June; July-December). Submission deadlines are:
