Defendant Sentenced to 7-8 Years in Prison for Cocaine and Methamphetamine Conspiracy

Reading, PA – In a shocking turn of events, Isaac Villasenor, a 24-year-old Reading man, pleaded guilty to participating in a cocaine and methamphetamine trafficking conspiracy in Berks County.

According to United States Attorney Peter J. Smith, Villasenor admitted to conspiring with others to distribute and possess with intent to distribute large quantities of cocaine and more than 500 grams of methamphetamine. The conspiracy spread across Berks, Dauphin, and Schuylkill Counties during 2011.

Villasenor was indicted by a federal grand jury on November 8, 2011, as a result of an investigation by the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and the Pennsylvania State Police.

The plea agreement, if accepted by the court, calls for Villasenor to be sentenced to not less than seven years in prison and not more than eight years in prison. Judge A. Richard Caputo scheduled sentencing for September 10, 2013.

Two co-defendants in the case previously pleaded guilty to participating in the drug conspiracy. Jose Sandoval-Martinez, the leader of the drug operation, was sentenced to 10 years in prison. Ivan Villasenor, Isaac’s brother, is scheduled to be sentenced later this month.

The case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Francis P. Sempa. The investigation was led by the DEA and the Pennsylvania State Police, highlighting the ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking in the region.

Isaac Villasenor’s guilty plea marks a significant milestone in the case, bringing one more defendant to justice for their role in the cocaine and methamphetamine trafficking conspiracy.
