A Warren County, Missouri man was sentenced to 96 months in prison for possessing child sexual abuse material on his phones and laptop.

U.S. District Judge Henry E. Autrey handed down the sentence to Jacob D. Beauchamp, 46, on Wednesday. The judge also ordered Beauchamp to pay $51,000 in restitution to victims who appeared in the images and videos he collected.

Beauchamp admitted possessing 146 images containing child sexual abuse material on his Apple iPhone, approximately 1,800 on his Samsung phone, and numerous images that were running as a screensaver on his laptop.

Beauchamp, of Wright City, pleaded guilty in April to one count of possession of child pornography.

The Wright City Police Department and the St. Charles County Cyber Crime Task Force investigated the case. Assistant U.S. Attorney Jillian Anderson prosecuted the case.

This case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse launched in May 2006. Project Safe Childhood marshals federal, state, and local resources to better locate, apprehend, and prosecute individuals who exploit children via the Internet, as well as to identify and rescue victims.

Beauchamp’s sentencing serves as a reminder of the severity of this crime and the importance of holding perpetrators accountable.
