A 23-year-old Suffolk County man has been caught in a web of child pornography, pleading guilty to receiving and possessing the illicit material.
Jacob Delaney, of Holtsville, New York, was found to have downloaded numerous still image and video files of child pornography between September 2018 and December 12, 2019.
Delaney admitted to using the Internet to search for and download the files while a resident of New Paltz, New York.

Delaney is scheduled to be sentenced on February 15, 2022, before Senior United States District Judge Thomas J. McAvoy in Albany.
He faces at least 5 years and up to 40 years in prison, as well as a term of supervised release of between 5 years and life. Delaney will also be required to register as a sex offender.
This case is part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative launched in May 2006 by the U.S. Attorney’s offices and the Criminal Division’s Child Exploitation and Obscenity Section (CEOS).
