California Man Caught on Tape: Child Exploitation Case Rocks Massachusetts
BOSTON – In a shocking revelation, a California man has pleaded guilty to child exploitation in Massachusetts. Jacob Guerrero, 26, of Woodland, Calif., was taken into custody after secretly filming an 11-year-old girl as she changed in her bedroom.
According to the investigation, Guerrero spent two weeks tracking the victim’s movements, taking notes on her daily routine. On March 17, 2021, he climbed onto the garage and stood outside the victim’s second-floor bedroom window, recording a video of her unclothed as she changed for bed.
Guerrero’s actions were part of a larger scheme to exploit young children. He had previously attempted to surreptitiously record minor females in bathrooms and changing rooms at the Wrentham Outlets using pen cameras affixed to his shoes.
Acting U.S. Attorney Joshua S. Levy stated, ‘Mr. Guerrero is a predator who targeted young children by tracking their moves. Worse, he violated a young girl’s privacy while she was in the safety of her own home, all for his own sexual gratification.’
The case is being prosecuted as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative designed to protect children from exploitation and abuse. Guerrero faces a sentence of 15 to 20 years in prison, as well as a fine of $250,000.
The FBI’s Child Exploitation – Human Trafficking Task Force is working tirelessly to bring perpetrators like Guerrero to justice. ‘Child sexual exploitation cases are among the most disturbing the FBI works. They’re also some of the most impactful,’ said Jodi Cohen, Special Agent in Charge of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Boston Division.
