MUSKOGEE, OKLAHOMA – In a shocking turn of events, 24-year-old Jacob Rhett Holland of Burneyville, Oklahoma, has pleaded guilty to possession of an unregistered firearm, a destructive device, in the Eastern District of Oklahoma.
The indictment alleged that on or about December 25, 2016, within the Eastern District of Oklahoma, Holland knowingly possessed a destructive device, which is a firearm defined in Title 26, United States Code, Section 5845, not registered to him in the National Firearms Registration and Transfer Record.
The charge arose from an investigation by the Love County Sheriff’s Office, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives.
Holland’s crime is punishable by not more than 120 months imprisonment, and up to a $250,000.00 fine or both.
The Honorable Steven P. Shreder, U.S. Magistrate Judge in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Oklahoma, in Muskogee, accepted the plea and ordered the completion of a presentence investigation report.
Assistant United States Attorney Dean Burris represented the United States in the case.
