Jake Brian Spiegel, Methamphetamine Charge, Nebraska 2023

Omaha, NE – Jake Brian Spiegel, a 42-year-old Albion man, has been dealt a lengthy prison sentence for a serious methamphetamine charge.

In a recent federal court proceeding, Spiegel was sentenced to 105 months in prison on a charge of conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine. United States District Court Judge Brian C. Buescher handed down the sentence on December 20, 2023, at the federal court in Omaha, Nebraska.

It’s worth noting that Spiegel will not be eligible for parole in the federal system. Upon his release from prison, he will be required to serve a 3-year term of supervised release.

The investigation into Spiegel’s activities began on May 28, 2022, when he was arrested for being in possession of over 50 grams of methamphetamine. However, he was able to post bond and was released.

Unfortunately for Spiegel, his freedom was short-lived. On June 12, 2022, he was arrested again in Merrick County, Nebraska, after he was found in possession of more than 50 grams of methamphetamine. This time, the consequences were more severe.

Spiegel’s arrest led to a subsequent arrest of his codefendant, Cheryl Ann Gonzalez. According to law enforcement, Gonzalez was found in possession of over 150 grams of methamphetamine and was intending to deliver the substance to Spiegel. Gonzalez is currently awaiting trial and has a pending motion.

The investigation into Spiegel’s activities was conducted by the Nebraska State Patrol. Grimy Times will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as more information becomes available.
