Miami Plumber Killers Sentenced to Decades in Prison

MIAMI, FL – Two South Florida men, Jamal Lamar Head and Keon Travy Glanton, have been sentenced to decades in prison for their roles in the murder of a Miami plumber in 2018.

According to court documents, Head and Glanton, both 35 years old at the time of the crime, robbed a Roto-Rooter plumber of valuable plumbing equipment in Riviera Beach, Florida on July 11, 2018. The following day, they planned to rob another plumber at a vacant house in Miami Lakes, Florida, where they forced the victim, identified as L.S.H., into a vehicle at gunpoint.

Head then shot L.S.H. once in the chest and twice in the abdomen, causing him to crash the vehicle into a tree. The medical examiner determined that L.S.H.’s cause of death was blood loss from the three gunshot wounds.

Head and Glanton were later arrested and charged with conspiring to commit a Hobbs Act robbery, carjacking resulting in death, and discharging a firearm in furtherance of a crime of violence. They pled guilty to the charges earlier this year.

U.S. District Judge Roy K. Altman sentenced Jamal Lamar Head to 60 years in prison and Keon Travy Glanton to just over 33 years in prison.

The case was investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) Miami Field Office and the Miami Dade Police Department, and was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorneys Daniel J. Marcet and Jessica Kahn Obenauf.
