In a high-profile federal criminal case, James Baggett, a 35-year-old resident of Chicago, was charged with multiple counts of violent crime in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois (ILND Federal District) in December 2010.
The case, Baggett v. United States, was filed on December 13, 2010, and stemmed from an investigation into a string of violent robberies and shootings that took place in the city’s South Side.
Baggett, who was known to local law enforcement as a suspect in several high-profile crimes, was arrested on December 10, 2010, following a lengthy investigation by the FBI and the Chicago Police Department.
