James J. Keough, Child Pornography Offenses, Massachusetts 2022

A Great Barrington man has been accused of receiving and possessing child sexual abuse material. James J. Keough, 54, was indicted by a federal grand jury in Springfield on one count of receipt of child pornography and one count of possession of child pornography.

The indictment alleges that between December 5, 2021, and March 16, 2022, Keough knowingly received child sexual abuse material that involved a prepubescent minor under the age of 12. It is also alleged that on or about March 18, 2022, Keough possessed child sexual abuse material in the form of images.

Keough was arrested on October 18, 2022, and was released on conditions following an initial appearance in federal court in Springfield.

The charge of receipt of child pornography provides for a sentence of at least five years and up to 20 years in prison, at least five years and up to a lifetime of supervised release, and a fine of up to $250,000. The charge of possession of child pornography provides for a sentence of up to 20 years in prison, at least five years and up to a lifetime of supervised release, and a fine of up to $250,000.
