In a shocking case of child exploitation, James Lyndon McFadin, Jr., 34, of Neosho, Missouri, was sentenced to 40 years in federal prison without parole.
McFadin was found guilty of enticing a minor to engage in sexually explicit conduct for the purpose of producing child pornography and receiving and distributing child pornography.
The crime occurred between January 1 and December 19, 2015, when McFadin used six children, including four females and two males, to produce child pornography. The victims ranged in age from approximately 5 to 16 years old.
Law enforcement officers executed a search warrant at McFadin’s residence and seized a laptop computer, a computer hard drive, and a computer tower. Investigators discovered multiple videos and photos of child pornography on McFadin’s devices and cell phone.
McFadin pleaded guilty to the charges on July 7, 2017, and has been incarcerated in federal custody since his arrest on December 21, 2015.
This case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Ami Harshad Miller and was investigated by the FBI, the Southwest Missouri Cyber Crime Task Force, and the Neosho, Mo., Police Department.
As part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative launched in May 2006 by the U.S. government to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse, McFadin’s case was brought to justice.
Project Safe Childhood marshals federal, state, and local resources to locate, apprehend, and prosecute individuals who sexually exploit children, and to identify and rescue victims.
