Timothy Douglas, Child Pornography Possession, New York 2024

BUFFALO, N.Y. – A gritty chapter in Jamestown’s dark history unfolded as Timothy Douglas, a 65-year-old sex offender, pleaded guilty before U.S. District Judge Richard J. Arcara for possession of child pornography. The charge stems from his prior convictions involving sexual abuse and abusive sexual conduct with minors.

According to Assistant U.S. Attorney Maeve E. Huggins, Douglas knowingly possessed a cellular telephone containing images of prepubescent minors under 12 years old. Between July 2022 and August 2023, he produced graphic images of three minor children, including one just five years of age, engaging in sexually explicit conduct. The nature of some of the images was sadistic.

Douglas’s criminal history dates back to 2003 when he was convicted in New York State for Possessing an Obscene Sexual Performance by a Child less than 16 years old, Sexual Abuse in the First Degree, and Course of Sexual Conduct Against a Child in the Second Degree. His latest plea carries a mandatory minimum sentence of 10 years in prison, with a maximum of 20 years and a $250,000 fine.

The investigation was led by the Jamestown Police Department under Chief Timothy Jackson and the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s Child Exploitation Human Trafficking Task Force, directed by Acting Special Agent-in-Charge Mark Grimm. Sentencing is scheduled for November 25, 2025.

This conviction serves as a stark reminder of the perpetual threat child predators pose to our communities. The justice system stands firm in its commitment to protect the innocence and safety of our youth.
