MARTINSBURG, WEST VIRGINIA – A Harpers Ferry man has been sentenced to 70 months in prison for his role in a cocaine conspiracy, authorities announced today.
Jamie Green, age 47, was sentenced to 70 months in prison for his involvement in the conspiracy to possess with the intent to distribute and to distribute cocaine, according to court documents and statements made in court.
Investigations revealed that the United States Postal Service Office of Inspector General intercepted a package containing more than two pounds of cocaine mailed from Los Angeles, California, to Green’s address in Jefferson County, West Virginia.
Green has prior convictions for drugs, aggravated assault by a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol, and firearms convictions, officials said.
Green will serve three years of supervised release following his prison sentence, in addition to the 70 months of incarceration. The case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Kyle Kane.
Green’s arrest and conviction were the result of a joint investigation by the United States Postal Service Office of Inspector General, the West Virginia State Police, and the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office.
U.S. District Judge Gina M. Groh presided over the case, handing down the sentence to Green.
