Jasmine Hinton, Methamphetamine Possession with Intent to Distribute, Pennsylvania 2024

A local woman has been hit with a serious narcotics charge in federal court, according to a recent indictment.

Jasmine Hinton, 29, of Johnstown, PA, has been accused of violating a federal narcotics law, with a one-count indictment naming her as the sole defendant.

According to the indictment, on or about February 14, 2024, Hinton possessed with intent to distribute 50 grams or more of a mixture and substance containing a detectable amount of methamphetamine.

The law provides for a total sentence of not less than five years and up to 40 years in prison, a fine of up to $5 million, or both. Under the federal Sentencing Guidelines, the actual sentence imposed would be based upon the seriousness of the offense and the prior criminal history, if any, of the defendant.

Assistant United States Attorney Michael L. Mitchell is prosecuting this case on behalf of the government. The Federal Bureau of Investigation conducted the investigation leading to the indictment.

An indictment is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
