Methamphetamine Trafficking Lands Spokane Man in Prison

In a recent crackdown on methamphetamine distribution, Jason Michael Clark, age 46, of Spokane, Washington, has been sentenced to a lengthy prison term. Clark was found guilty of possession with intent to distribute 50 grams or more of methamphetamine, a serious offense that warrants severe punishment.

According to court proceedings, members of the Spokane Police Department’s Patrol Anti-Crime Team (PACT) encountered Clark leaving a residence as they were arresting another individual with an outstanding warrant. A search of Clark’s abandoned backpack revealed over 50 grams of methamphetamine and drug-trafficking paraphernalia, leading to his arrest and subsequent conviction.

United States Attorney William D. Hyslop commended the federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies involved in the case, praising their commitment to investigating and prosecuting individuals trafficking in methamphetamine. The United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Washington continues to prioritize the prosecution of methamphetamine traffickers and seek appropriate punishment for their crimes.

The case was prosecuted under the Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN) program, a collaboration between federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies to identify, investigate, and prosecute individuals responsible for violent crimes in local neighborhoods. The U.S. Attorney’s Office is partnering with law enforcement agencies to specifically target criminals responsible for violent crime in the Eastern District of Washington.

Clark was sentenced to a 160-month term of imprisonment, to be followed by a 5-year term of court supervision after his release from federal prison. This harsh sentence serves as a deterrent to those involved in methamphetamine trafficking and reinforces the importance of law enforcement’s efforts to combat this serious public health concern.

The case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Spokane Regional Safe Streets Task Force, the Spokane Police Department PACT, the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office, and the Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office. Assistant United States Attorney Patrick J. Cashman prosecuted the case, bringing Clark to justice for his crimes.
