A 21-year-old Oxford man faces federal charges for his alleged role in a methamphetamine trafficking operation in York County, Pennsylvania.
According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Pennsylvania, Jeffrey Christopher Cerrato was indicted by a federal grand jury on September 1, 2021, for possessing with the intent to distribute approximately one pound of methamphetamine.
The alleged offense occurred on January 14, 2021, in York County, Pennsylvania. Cerrato is accused of possessing the illicit substance with the intent to distribute it.
The York City Police Department and the Drug Enforcement Administration investigated the case, which is part of Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN). Assistant U.S. Attorney Paul J. Miovas, Jr. is prosecuting the case.
Cerrato, if found guilty, faces a maximum penalty of life imprisonment, with a mandatory minimum sentence of 10 years of incarceration. He also faces a term of at least 5 years of supervised release following imprisonment and a $10,000,000 fine.
Indictments are only allegations, and Cerrato is presumed innocent until found guilty in a court of law.
A sentence following a finding of guilt will be imposed by the Judge after consideration of the applicable federal sentencing statutes and the Federal Sentencing Guidelines.
