A Park Hill man has been sentenced to 37 months in prison for his role in a methamphetamine distribution operation and for possessing an unregistered firearm.
Jeffrey Scott Hoffman, 47, was sentenced to 37 months imprisonment, followed by 3 years of supervised release, for possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine and for possession of an unregistered firearm, specifically a sawed-off shotgun.
The charges stemmed from an investigation by the Hulbert Police Department and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
The indictment alleged that on or about November 5, 2016, Hoffman knowingly and intentionally possessed with intent to distribute a mixture or substance containing a detectable amount of methamphetamine, a Schedule II controlled substance.
Hoffman was also accused of possessing a shotgun with a barrel less than 18 inches in length, which is a firearm not registered to him in the National Firearms Registration and Transfer Record.
The Honorable Ronald A. White, a District Judge in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Oklahoma, presided over the hearing. Hoffman will remain in custody pending transportation to a designated federal facility to serve his sentence.
Assistant United States Attorney Dean Burris represented the United States in the case.
Hoffman’s sentencing marks the culmination of an investigation that began with the Hulbert Police Department and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. The case highlights the ongoing effort to combat methamphetamine distribution and gun violence in Oklahoma.
