Tahlequah Man Sentenced to 60 Months for Drug Conspiracy

MUSKOGEE, OKLAHOMA – A Tahlequah man has been sentenced to 60 months imprisonment for his role in a drug conspiracy.

Gary Wayne Wilder, age 36, was sentenced on October 1, 2015, for his involvement in a conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute and distribute 50 grams or more of a mixture or substance containing a detectable amount of methamphetamine, a Schedule II controlled substance.

The conspiracy charge, in violation of Title 21, United States Code, Sections 846, 841(a)(1), and 841(b)(1)(B), alleged that Wilder knowingly and intentionally conspired with others to commit the offense.

The charge arose from a joint investigation entitled ‘Home of the Brave’, coordinated by the Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force (OCDETF) of the Eastern District of Oklahoma.

Assistant United States Attorney Shannon Henson represented the United States in the case.

The Honorable Ronald A. White presided over the hearing, and Wilder will remain in custody pending transportation to the designated federal facility.

The agencies involved in the investigation included the Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics, the McAlester Police Department, the Tahlequah Police Department, the Muskogee Police Department, the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Department, Districts 13, 18, 25 and 27 District Attorney’s Drug Task Forces and Violent Crime Task Forces, the Muskogee County District Attorney’s Office, the Seminole Nation Lighthorse Police Department, the Oklahoma Department of Corrections, the Bureau of Indian Affairs and the McAlester, and Tulsa Offices of the Drug Enforcement Administration.

Gary Wayne Wilder, a 36-year-old man from Tahlequah, Oklahoma, has been sentenced to 60 months imprisonment for his role in a drug conspiracy.

The defendant will serve 4 years of supervised release after his imprisonment.

The case highlights the ongoing efforts of law enforcement agencies to combat drug trafficking in the region.
