Waterbury Man Pleads Guilty to Armed Robberies
A Waterbury man pleaded guilty to federal robbery and firearm charges stemming from a violent armed robbery spree in Connecticut in late 2017 and early 2018.
Jeffrey Stokarski, 44, of Waterbury, waived his right to be indicted and pleaded guilty yesterday before U.S. District Judge Jeffrey A. Meyer in New Haven to federal robbery and firearm charges.
According to court documents and statements made in court, Stokarski committed multiple violent armed robberies across Connecticut, including the Henny Penny, Country Cloverleaf Shell, Krauszer’s Food Store, Citgo Gas Station, Dunkin Donuts, Rayon Market, Cumberland Farms, Food Land, Mobil gas station, and Valero Fas Mart gas station.
Stokarski was charged with committing multiple violent armed robberies on December 27, 2017, including the Henny Penny, where he stole approximately $289 in cash; the Country Cloverleaf Shell, where he punched the driver repeatedly in the face while demanding the driver’s wallet; and the Krauszer’s Food Store, where he placed a store clerk in a headlock, pulled out a knife and stole approximately $3,264 in cash and store items.
On December 31, 2017, Stokarski again entered the Henny Penny and demanded cash from the register, receiving approximately $161 in cash. On January 1, 2018, Stokarski entered the Citgo Gas Station and grabbed the clerk, pulling out a knife and demanding that the clerk give up all the money, receiving approximately $2,084 in cash and stealing several store items worth approximately $49.
Stokarski was also charged with committing armed robberies at the Dunkin Donuts, Rayon Market, Cumberland Farms, Food Land, Mobil gas station, and Valero Fas Mart gas station, stealing a total of approximately $7,419 in cash and store items.
Stokarski is scheduled to be sentenced on July 12, 2023.
