Jelahn Williams, Narcotics Distribution and Money Laundering, Pennsylvania 2022

A former Philadelphia resident has pleaded guilty to conspiring to distribute narcotics and money laundering charges. According to a recent guilty plea in federal court, Jelahn Williams, also known as ‘Boog’, conspired to distribute methamphetamine, cocaine base, and fentanyl and heroin in the Western District of Pennsylvania.

The charges against Williams include violating federal narcotics laws, with a minimum sentence of 10 years in prison, a fine of $10,000,000, or both, at Count One, and a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison, a fine of up to $500,000, or both, at Count Two.

Assistant United States Attorney Arnold P. Bernard Jr. is prosecuting this case on behalf of the government. The guilty plea was entered on August 9, 2022, before Senior United States District Judge Kim R. Gibson.

The investigation into Williams’ activities was conducted by the Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force (OCDETF), a task force that identifies, disrupts, and dismantles high-level drug traffickers, money launderers, gangs, and transnational criminal organizations that threaten communities throughout the United States.

The OCDETF investigation was led by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Laurel Highlands Resident Agency, and included members from the FBI Safe Streets Task Force, Homeland Security Investigations, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms, the Pennsylvania State Police, and the Indiana Borough Police Department.

Jelahn Williams is scheduled to be sentenced on December 14, 2022, at 1:30 p.m. In addition to the potential prison sentence, Williams may also face significant fines and penalties for his role in the narcotics distribution and money laundering scheme.
