A San Antonio man has been sentenced to 28 years in prison for producing child pornography.
Jeremy Shawn Lopezieo, 35, participated in a live chat through social media where he live streamed the sexual abuse of a child not realizing he was chatting with an undercover agent with the FBI’s Child Exploitation Task Force.
The FBI immediately located and arrested Lopezieo and rescued the child.
On February 28, 2019, Lopezieo was arrested by the FBI. He has remained in custody since then.
On January 20, 2022, Lopezieo pleaded guilty to one count of production of child pornography.
In addition to the 28-year prison sentence, Lopezieo was ordered to pay $50,000 to the victim. After his prison term, he will serve 25 years on supervised release.
“I am hopeful the sentence handed down to Lopezieo gives the victim some sense of justice, even though it cannot mitigate a lifetime of trauma,” said U.S. Attorney Ashley C. Hoff.
“Today’s sentencing is a reminder of the need for continued and aggressive pursuit of all those that would rob children of their innocence and harm them in such a despicable manner,” said FBI Special Agent in Charge Oliver E. Rich Jr.
