Federal prosecutors in Maryland are cracking down on what they call a brazen scheme to peddle phony goods to unsuspecting buyers online. At the center of the bust is Jervis, a defendant accused of using firearms to intimidate victims and facilitate the illicit transactions.
According to the complaint filed in U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland (MDD), Jervis allegedly used his online presence to promote and sell counterfeit items, including luxury handbags and shoes. The feds claim that Jervis’s operation netted him a significant profit, much of which was laundered through offshore bank accounts.
Prosecutors say Jervis used firearms to protect his illicit business, including making threatening phone calls and showing up at the homes of buyers who sought refunds. The indictment paints a picture of a ruthless operator who left a trail of victims in his wake.
The case against Jervis is being heard in the U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland (MDD), where he faces federal charges related to his alleged crimes. The court proceedings, including Jervis’s plea and sentencing, will be closely watched by federal law enforcement officials as they seek to dismantle the online counterfeit market and bring its perpetrators to justice.
