Jevon Henry, Cocaine Distribution, New York 2024

Jevon Henry, a 42-year-old Bronx resident, has been accused of distributing a significant amount of cocaine in Syracuse, New York.

According to a recent indictment, Henry was caught carrying approximately five and one-half kilograms of cocaine in two pieces of luggage on his way to Syracuse from New York City on January 29, 2024.

As part of his plea deal, Henry admitted that he intended to distribute the cocaine in Syracuse, a plan that was foiled by DEA Agents who interdicted him at a local hotel before any of the cocaine could be distributed.

The United States Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) investigated the case with assistance from the Syracuse Police Department, Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office, and Onondaga County District Attorney’s Office.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Jessica N. Carbone is prosecuting the case, and sentencing is scheduled for September 10, 2024. At that time, Henry faces a mandatory minimum prison sentence of 5 years and a maximum sentence of 40 years, a fine of up to $5,000,000, and a term of supervised release of at least 4 years and up to life.

The mandatory minimum prison sentence of 5 years is a serious consequence for Henry, and the maximum sentence of 40 years and a fine of up to $5,000,000 serve as a reminder of the severity of the crime.

This case highlights the ongoing efforts of law enforcement agencies to combat the distribution of illicit substances in New York.
