The employee complied, handing over an undisclosed amount of cash. Jimenez-Carreno and his accomplice fled the scene, leaving behind a vehicle that was later recovered by police.
Following a thorough investigation, authorities obtained a search warrant for Jimenez-Carreno’s residence, where they discovered a handgun and other evidence linking him to the crime.
As a result of the investigation, Jimenez-Carreno was arrested on March 10, 2020, and subsequently charged with armed robbery and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. If convicted, Jimenez-Carreno faces a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison for the armed robbery charge and 10 years for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
