John Kless, 49, Arrested for Making Threats to Congress

A Tamarac resident is facing charges after allegedly making multiple threatening communications to members of Congress.

According to allegations in the complaint, on April 16, 2019, John Kless made multiple threatening communications to the Congressional offices of members from California, Michigan, and New Jersey.

Kless, 49, was arrested yesterday after being charged with Making Threatening Communications, in violation of Title 18, United States Code, Section 875(c).

Ariana Fajardo Orshan, United States Attorney for the Southern District of Florida, and Matthew R. Verderosa, Chief of Police, United States Capitol Police, made the announcement.

Kless made his initial appearance earlier today before United States Magistrate Judge Barry S. Seltzer. The case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Marc S. Anton.

A complaint is merely an accusation and a defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
